Saint Louis designer and entrepreneur, Lori Coulter developed the TrueMeasure process to help make swimwear shopping and thus life a little bit better for all women. Drawing inspiration from vintage swimwear, art, travel and eveningwear, Lori has established herself as a national expert on swimwear, and her custom designs are considered a wardrobe essential for jet setters across the country.
Lori Coulter’s goal is to create swimwear that fits a woman’s unique shape and flatters the body they have. The 2014 collection combines the latest in colors, shapes and accessories to create chic, wearable swimwear with a true fit for all ages, lifestyles and activities. Rooted in technology and obsessed with fashion, Lori became one of a few designers in the world to successfully integrate 3D body scanning and computer aided design to create a fully digital and automated supply chain. In a logical extension of the made-to-order retail business, Lori Coulter began working with resorts in Las Vegas, Miami and elsewhere to design chic, elegant uniforms for servers at the country’s trendiest ultra-pools. The uniform designs including swimwear, activewear and dresses are now featured at many of the most exclusive resorts and retailers in the world including Wynn Resorts, The Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino, MGM Resorts, The Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos, among others. Recently Lori Coulter launched exclusive wholesale collections with brands like Soft Surroundings and Cintas and began working with department stores, specialty chains and catalog retailers to design and manufacture private label and branded swimwear.
(pronounced sa-wee-pay) is inspired by Costa do Sauipe, one of the most beautiful and evocative tourist destinations in Brazil. Costa do Sauipe is located on the north coast of Bahia, a state rich in history, culture and hospitable people. The birth place of renowned artists such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Bahia has shared with the world its legendary music, foods, colors and the best beaches one could envision.
After one memorable trip to Costa do Sauipe in 2006, they were inspired to begin their journey and to develop a line of swimwear that reflects the rich natural beauty of Bahia’s beaches and people. Their old time love for swimwear had found a muse, and our hearts were set on the name SAUIPE as a tribute to this idyllic stretch of white sandy beaches and clear turquoise water, framed by coconut trees along the coast.
